Common questions

Before you arrange a repair

What should I bring with the computer?

Bring the computer and its power adaptor. If a fault involves a particular cable, drive or accessory, bring that too. Do not send passwords or recovery keys through an online form.

Will my data be safe?

Any storage can fail without warning, particularly a drive that is already damaged. Back up important files if the computer still allows it and tell BytePC’s what data matters before work begins. Recovery is not guaranteed.

Do you repair laptops as well as desktops?

Yes, both can be assessed. Repair feasibility depends on the exact model, fault, parts availability and whether the repair makes economic sense.

Parts & computers

Need an upgrade part or replacement PC?

The store remains available for computer packages, components and peripherals. Current listings marked DEMO are examples only, out of stock and unavailable to purchase.

Tell us what your computer is doing.

Include the make and model, the symptoms, when the problem started and whether important files are involved. Please do not include passwords, recovery keys or payment details.
